About Legal Nuances of Product
We are in the process of building our product in the Cornell Tech Startup Studio. Deciding on the features. Understanding the flows of user experience. Trying to deliver value in every feature. As I came from the legal background, I couldn’t help but noticing that there are legal nuances in most of the aspects of product building. And, sooner or later, these nuances must be acknowledged and addressed, before rolling it out there.
We envisioned our platform to be a place for certain professionals to upload their contents, personal or professional, and get meaningful feedback from trusted people. As soon as we thought about the user journey, legal concerns came up. Can the users do that legally? What if the user is an employee in another company? How to manage our legal risks? What about the use of the content? How can we use the content in our platform too?
I see this as opportunity for me, as an LLM student in Cornell Tech, to apply what I have learned so far in our classes. And, I have to say that thinking about all those legal nuances is one of the fun parts of the process of working in a startup environment.
